As if we didn't know already, since the 'art' of Divination is clearly a scam run by people with an unhealthy attachment to incense: the likelihood of a genuine prediction passing through Sybil Trelawney's lips is zero. She has made hundreds of predictions over the course of her lifetime, and not one of them has come true (beyond reasonable coincidence).

Did anyone else notice how much those muggles looked like rats? It was quite striking, the parallel. It seems to be a common instinct, to run about when in danger and out of control. I want to try and replicate the experiment with other animals.

I think I'm going to stop reading the papers for a week or so. We get it, you're angry. We're all angry. That doesn't mean you should have a public platform to express your anger unless you (a) have a novel and interesting point to make or (b) are particularly eloquent or persuasive. The view from the ground is dull and repetitive and taking up far too much of my paper.

Nice to have a party in my own house for a change. It makes it so much easier if I get drunk and forget everything that happened, because at least I'm waking up in my own bed even if it seems to have been recently vacated by another warm body. Anyone see who I slipped off with? There weren't many girls there, so it shouldn't be too hard to narrow it down. I hope it wasn't the daughter of anyone scary.
Head hurts though. Hair of the dog, anyone?

Anyone following the muggle news? Muggles are crazy. A whole bunch of them, in some cult or other decided to kill themselves. Like their lives aren't precarious enough already. I wonder if it makes them feel like they have some sort of power? Hundreds died. Can you imagine if hundreds of us died? How would we ever survive?

It was nice to go to a party at the weekend. It's been a while since I saw so many people I like all together. Most of my friends have finished school now, which makes it look more like I ought to be growing up. We'll call this a gap year, only instead of traveling I sort of laid around dressed in weird clothes.
